abio Inghirami started his activities from scratch in the clothing sector – in 1949, with a loan of seven million Lira from his parents, he bought 24 sewing machines and began producing shirts in the basement in his home in Sansepolcro. With 28 people manifacturing 120 shirts a day the adventure began. His idea being driven by what he had heard ocurring in the USA where the use of mass-made shirts that had revolutionized the American market.

An innovative entrepreneur not only at national level, for the choices and decisions brough forward, especially in the period between 1979 and 1989, he created and structured the Inghirami Group in order to manage the the production process, from conception to the raw material, up to complete implementation by integrating synergies and working on partnerhips with other companies. since the ealry 70s he was one of the first promoters of the “Made in Italy” brand in the world, contributing with his personal commitment and his efforts. Fabio Inghirami spareheaded  the concept and notion of “Made in Italy” in the World.

He tried to strengthen their organizational process and investments to support their presence in foreign markets, knowing that the fashion factor was the pivotal for the competitive repositioning strategy of companies in the textile and clothing sector, whose weight was high in our economy.

For this purpose, he organized exhibitions of great success, as Modit in Milan, Pitti in Florence, Menswear Fashion in New York and, shortly before his death, Haute Couture Moscow.

To manage a group of its size, divided into many different areas, Fabio Inghirami attributed a key role to the product as the first vehicle of his promotion strategies, but he was also a pioneer in the advertising field. He was among the first to understand the value of communication to promote the products.

Fabio Inghirami covered numerous roles in the Italian Industrial sector. From 1976 to 1983 he was president of the ‘Industrial Association of Arezzo; 1977-1983 National President of the Association of ‘industrial clothing; since 1979 member of the Confindustria; President Ente Fiere Italian knitwear and clothing (Efima); 1980-1990 Ente Moda Italy (EMI); since 1994 President of Europe Selection, established with capital of EMI and LGEDO (leader of fashion shows in Germany), since 1985 was part of ElTAC, an association of the largest European textile and apparel groups. Officer (1964), Commander (1969) and grand ‘Official (1978) to the Republic of Italy, July 9, 1983 he was appointed by the president of the Italian Republic the order of merit of Labour.
